Our Top 8 Christmas Albums

This is one debatable topic. Christmas albums are all beautiful in their way, but there are some that just put the star on top of the tree, spike the eggnog and have us wishing we could dance in reindeer PJs all day every day. There was much debate, but we here at Lifecycle Diaries have finally agreed on our top 8 Christmas albums. We also decided that we could not put them in a one being the best type list, so in no favoriting particular order.

1. Hanson - Finally It's Christmas

Okay, I know, there is some Hanson live up in these corridors, but guys this album is impressive. While the songs have lyrics we all know the twist on the tune, the extras like a harmonica, it is incredibly catchy. The album was played without anyone knowing it was Hanson, and it scored some legit points during the voting process. Some of the favorites from the album were catchy; Finally It's Christmas, Til New Years Night, and Winter Wonderland.

2. She and Him - A Very She & Him Christmas

Zooey Deschanel and her unique 50s classic lounge voice take's us back to the days where we can sip on Hot Chocolate and watch snowflakes fall on our noses. It is a perfect snuggling around the fireplace album. Top favorites from this album were A Christmas Waltz, Silver Bells and Little Saint Nick.

3. Michael Buble - Christmas

Stop, we swoon. Michael Buble has us melting like a popsicle on the Fourth of July. Each song takes us somewhere else. Swaying on the streets of New York, dancing under the tree with the love of your life and singing your little one to sleep. Michael Buble kills it when it comes to classics with a touch of feels, we particularly love Cold December Night, Ave Maria and It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.

4. Kelly Clarkson - Wrapped in Red

There are the classics that artists remix, and then there is Kelly Clarkson killing it with new holiday favorites like Wrapped in Red from her Wrapped in Red holiday album. This woman has pipes and makes us reach for the red lipstick for our holiday parties. The vocals and the finger-snapping tunes are enough to get your party or drive to work the Christmas spirit you are looking for. Turn it on Wrapped In Red, Underneath the Tree and My Favorite Things!

5. A Very Special Christmas - Various Artists

Back in 1987, record industry titan Jimmy Iovine organized this all-star benefit album for the Special Olympics. The pull he has was unmatched. This album has given us staples from birth to now. We don't see this album ever losing out making a Christmas playlist. Our favorites from the album Merry Christmas Baby by Bruce Springsteen and the E Band (that piano and saxophone), Christmas in Hollis by Run D.M.C., I Wish Everyday Could Be Like Christmas by Bon Jovi and Madonna singing Santa Baby.

6. Elvis' Christmas Album

STOP, this album had everyone reaching to spike the eggnog. I'm not sure that was the purpose, but you Elvis makes you feel like a badass Christmas celebrator. The sheer amount of people trying to do the Elvis pose was slightly frightening, but it was all in good fun. This was a harder album to agree on song-wise, but at last, we decided our favorites were Santa Claus is Back In Town, Here Comes Santa Claus, Blue Christmas and O Little Town of Bethlehem.

7. Glee - The Christmas Album

Do you need a pep in your step? Play this album, wow. We all wanted to run around and throw up tinsel, snowflakes, and garland. This is the best album for decorating your tree, baking fresh cookies or watching your kids dance recital (please, tell them about it). Deck the Rooftop, Merry Christmas Darling, God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman and Last Christmas were all on the top of our lists.

8. Jackson 5 - Christmas Album

Um, it's the Jackson 5, didn't anyone think they wouldn't make this list? The album is full of cult classics like Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, the whoa-yeah's that are in there are something we all know we try to hit. The album hits the mark on many fronts, but we love Someday at Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and mentioned above, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Your turn. Who did we miss? Our honorable mentions were, The Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs, The Classic Christmas Album by Kenny G and The Classic Christmas Country Album.
